Microwave dryers allow removal of water from the materials of newly-built and renovated buildings.

It provides a much better and faster way of drying, preventing the development of mold, decay, and other defects of dampness. Often some of the materials of the newly-built buildings are covered with paint before they get dry. The same may occur during the scheduled renovation of old buildings. As a result, the moisture gets "locked" within the construction, resulting in a mass distribution of mold or decay throughout the building.

Almost all kinds of molds exude toxic substances that can provoke asthmatic attacks or allergic reactions to a compromised immune system. Besides the smell of decay, visible damages or defects start to spread all over the building.

Microwave drying - the best way out.

It is possible to prevent the above-mentioned difficulties, or in the worst case, remove the results caused by the dampness in the constructions, by means of drying. Process is the most efficient way out.

The dryer operates according to the principle of household microwave ovens. Microwaves (classified as radio waves with frequency close to 2,5 GHz) induce activity of water molecules leading to increase in temperature. Like a household oven, a microwave oven heats the structure from within, i.e. the entire mass of the structure within the area of the dryer operation is subject to heating.

The scope of application.

Designed for building, the dryers are usable for the drying of both external and internal walls, poles, concrete floors, ceilings, balconies, basements and flat roofs. The portable system of the dryers allows the location of them at different places and positions. The drying of both vertical and horizontal planes: floors, ceilings, walls, and junctions/interior angles is possible.

Microwave dryers are suitable for drying of concrete, masonry, plaster, wood and wooden products.

Safety requirements.

Special attention is paid to safety design of the dryer. According to the current standards, they are provided with protection devices. The level of radiation won’t exceed the established standard within the range of 30 cm (11.8 inches) from the device, if placed correctly.

The maximum density of radiation usually does not exceed the acceptable level of 10 W/m2 beyond thick layers of construction. For example, the required thickness for a layer of concrete is 25-30 cm. In the case the construction is thinner or less dense, it is possible to cover its outside with foil or restrict access to the room, for the period of drying.

Advantages of microwave drying:

SPEED– microwave treatment allows the drying of damp basements in a few days or weeks. Using other means (removal of moisture with air blowers) it takes months for similar results. For instance, a 38 - centimeter sand-lime brick wall (with the moisture content of 5.6%) was irradiated by microwaves for four hours. The moisture content decreased to 1.0 - 2.0%!

EFFICIENCY - microwaves pass through glass, plastic or mineral substances. They "work" only after contacting a moist part of construction. Thus microwaves affect only the areas required to be dried.

ECONOMY - despite the large nominal power of microwave dryers, they provide an energy saving. Air blowers and other devices affect all of the indoor air, whereas microwave dryers concentrate all the energy on drying the structure, thus preventing losses.

Drying can be done in rooms with completed interior finishing as well.

It is available throughout the year regardless of the current environment temperature.
